Central Valley High School is a public, coeducational secondary school located in Monaca, Pennsylvania. Established in 2009, CVHS operates as the single high school within the Central Valley School District, serving students residing across Center Township, Monaca Borough, and Potter Township. Academics & Schedule Structure

Central Valley High School delivers a rigorous curriculum structured around a modified block schedule. Students attend four 74-minute academic blocks each semester, supplemented by a mid-day option designed for courses that run continuously throughout the entire school year.

  • Advanced Placement (AP): CVHS offers AP courses across every academic discipline. Approximately 175 students participate in AP exams each school year.

  • Dual Enrollment: College-in-High-School (CHS) courses are available, allowing students to earn college credit while completing their high school requirements.

  • Vocational & Technical Education: Juniors and seniors have the opportunity to attend the Beaver County Career & Technology Center (CTC) for hands-on career and technical pathways.

Athletics & Student Life

Consistent with its goal to support the whole student, CVHS sponsors 10 Boys' and 11 Girls' varsity sports competing in the WPIAL (District 7 of the PIAA).

  • Varsity Sports Offered: Football, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Golf, Track and Field, Cross Country, Wrestling, and Swimming.

  • Extracurricular Activities: Students participate in a broad variety of clubs, academic groups, field trips, dances, and visual and performing arts—including musical theater, choral ensembles, and concert band performances.
