Dual Enrollment

The Central Valley School District is committed to preparing our students for post-secondary education. Dual Enrollment allows schools to partner with eligible postsecondary partners to offer juniors and seniors an opportunity to earn college credit while completing their high school requirements.

About Dual Enrollment

Eligibility

  1. The student must be a high school junior or senior. Acceptance will be based on college admissions standard GPA.
  2. The student must be able to provide own transportation.
  3. The student must have the class time and days approved with his/her school counselor and a modified high school schedule must be prearranged with the counselor prior to the official college course enrollment. The student must also meet the individual post-secondary institution admission requirements for dual enrollment.
  4. In order to remain in this program, the student must maintain a minimum 70% in each dually-enrolled course.
  5. It is the student’s responsibility to secure a copy of the college transcript for the college admissions process

High School Credits, GPA, and Class Rank

Dual Enrollment credits taken off-campus at local colleges will not factor into a student’s high school percentage average or class rank. Students who are eligible, and register for a post-secondary course, must be committed to the Dual Enrollment Program and follow the policies and timelines of each institution for class registration/withdrawal. Central Valley High School offers a wide range of courses for students. Students are encouraged to take advantage of our many electives particularly in the arts, humanities, family and consumer sciences and business departments. The credit course schedule is available under "Course Search" at MyCCBC.

Common Dual Enrollment courses include:

  • College Algebra

  • Calculus 

  • English Composition

  • History

  • Introduction to Information Technology

  • General Psychology

  • Principles of Sociology 

  1. Students must apply to CCBC online. 

  2. Students must fill out the Dual Enrollment form. Completed forms can be turned in to the Guidance Office.
